BILLINGS - Area retailers are recovering from the Black Friday rush, but they say they're happy with the turnout. Officials at Rimrock Mall said their numbers were strong this Black Friday.

General Manager, Corey Watson of Cabela’s, said they were still seeing a lot of traffic Saturday too. They hope it will be a strong holiday season.

“Great business day, lots of traffic in the morning. We had about 350-400 people lined up out front. So they'd be the first ones in the door to get the specials. We had a great day of traffic. People flowing in the door all afternoon. Overall, just a win for us here in Billings," said Watson.

Nationally, retailers registered about $11 billion dollars in sales Friday. That’s up one half of a percent from last year. The West saw the biggest increase in sales with nearly a 5% gain over last year's sales.
