BILLINGS - Thousands of Billings residents took in the sights and sounds of the annual Holiday Parade Friday night in downtown Billings.

The parade started at 7 p.m. and lasted a little more than an hour. It was put on by the Downtown Billings Association.

"I think the nice weather brought out a lot more people this year," said Jason Vollmer.

There were 101 floats entered in the parade this year. A wooden Viking ship by the Sons of Norway turned heads as it sailed the parade's path.

Whether you were sitting on the sidewalk, in the back of a pick-up, or on dad's shoulders you had a great view of the parade. The event definitely helped people get into the holiday spirit.

"I just wish that everybody has a merry Christmas," said Alexis Vollmer.

It was a little disturbing to see in the Holiday parade a float which had both hay bails and kids on it, also two adults who were both smoking cigarettes on the float and then continued to throw them in the street in front of the crowd, a little distasteful don't you think? What happened to the Mt clean air act?
