Red Kettle Campaign

BILLINGS - Salvation Army officials said applications for assistance have already doubled this year. They're hoping the Red Kettle Campaign will raise money for families in need.

Fifteen kettles are stationed at major shopping districts in The Magic City. Despite the economic downturn, last year's efforts set a record. About $130 million dollars were raised nationwide. This year, they hope to see even more donations.

"The Christmas campaign allows us to go out and purchase food, and if necessary toys," said Major Kevin Jackson with Salvation Army. "We get a lot of those things donated, but in a lot of cases, we have to go out and make sure we have some of those items for families."

If you'd like to help with the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign, you can call the Billings office at (406) 245-4659.
