Heights Funding Issues

BILLINGS - It appears funding issues are stalling major road projects in the Heights.

Tuesday night the Heights Task Force met with residents and managers from various transportation projects in the Heights. The managers reported some set backs in many of the projects, including the inter-loop connection project that will extend Wicks Lane to Zimmerman Trail.

They say construction for the project won't begin until at least 2011. "Somewhere I read this thing will take 20 years before it's done. I'm not sure if that's true or not, but I'm looking around here thinking half of us probably won’t be here," said task force member Laynn Chase.

The task force will meet again next month to take nominations for task force chairman.

Bet if this was a project on the westend, there would be a surplus of money.
