BILLINGS - Officials with the National Park Service are asking for help finding people who vandalized the historic Kane, Wyoming cemetery.

Kane is located about 10 miles west of Lovell. It no longer has any residents, but the town's cemetery remains a few miles north of where the town once stood. Park officials say someone vandalized several historic tombstones in the graveyard.

They first noticed the vandalism on November 4th, then saw additional vandalism the evening of November 13th. They said several headstones have been knocked down or broken and others have been painted with spray paint.

If you have any information about these incidents you are asked to call the park service at (307) 548-5421 or just stop by the Lovell visitor center.

These sites are those of my family. I would absolutely hope that these monsters are caught and prosecuted. This is some of the last tangible historic information left of my family

How would the people who did this disgrace feel if someone did this to thier parents, or grandparents final resting place. I hope they find them and throw the book at them!!

Sad Story. I guess the saying, "Is nothing sacred?" applies here. Probably some teenage punks whose parents don't know where they are.

A lot of my relatives are out at Kane. It is their resting place and it is real low to even think about doing these types of things.

I agree with Lisa. Are these people bored?! What a shame to do something so low. These were peoples parent's, grandparents, siblings....real sad. All I can say is I hope whoever did this are caught and prosecuted to the FULLEST extent.
