BILLINGS - Senator Jon Tester hopes to pass legislation expanding healthcare for rural veterans before Veterans Day. However, an Oklahoma republican has put a hold on the bill to keep it from coming before the Senate.

During a news conference on Capitol Hill Monday, Tester called on congress to move past what he called "political games" and pass the measure.

"In rural America, veterans who live there don't live as long as veterans in urban America," Senator Tester said. "The problem is services. This bill helps address those services. To give the veterans who live in rural America the kind of need and support that they deserve."

If Senator Tom Coburn removes the hold on the bill, the Senat could vote as quickly as Monday night.
