BILLINGS - Demand is still exceeding supply as 1,200 people were vaccinated against H1N1 Monday at a free clinic.

Although they had to stand in line for hours before receiving the vaccine, many people said it was worth the wait.

"We're going go to New York and there are a lot of people there and we don't want to get sick so we need to get the shot," said Maddy Evenson.

Health officials distributed both the H1N1 shot and nasal spray. Organizers were prepared for the crowd with multiple vaccination stations and dozens of staff from RiverStone Health, St. Vincent Healthcare and Billings Clinic.

"We are also checking patients earlier in the process to determine which vaccines they will be receiving," said Lil Anderson, President of RiverStone Health.

The clinic was also the first to provide all 3 types of the H1N1 shot vaccine. "It just increases our availability to protect the health of the public," added Anderson.

While there was not enough vaccine for everyone who stood in line, RiverStone Health said it plans to hold more clinics, but they're not sure when the next shipment will arrive or how much they'll receive.
