BILLINGS - Police said a Billings woman is recovering after being nearly choked to death after a domestic disturbance.

Police were called to 209 Orchard Avenue early Saturday night. Jacob Carroll was arrested for attempted deliberate homicide. A police report said officials entered the home to find Carroll, 27, choking Tia Murphy, 33, in the bathroom. The report goes on to say that after several attempts to pull the suspect off the woman, the man had to be tasered.

Officers were able to resuscitate the woman who was transported to St. Vincent Hospital. She has since been released. Officials say the case is still under investigation.
