BILLINGS - Many individuals struggle with depression, especially during those cold winter months. Officials say exercising is a great way to kick those winter blues out the door.

Jason Cahill, Fitness Manager at Oz Fitness, says exercise can help you improve more than just your health. "People do tend to get down in the winter time. Biggest thing is your endorphins flare and it puts people in a good mood, it affects your job, in affects your personal life, everything," said Cahill, of OZ Fitness.

Exercise is a great way to curb cravings and release endorphins making you feel happier. Exercise can also give you a sense of accomplishment.

Research suggests it increases the level of serotonin in the brain. This particular chemical affects mood, sleep, appetite and sex drive. Exercise also helps reduce the level of Cortisol, a stress hormone.
