Management of Bison

BILLINGS - Tuesday, Montana Congressman Denny Rehberg testified before a congressional oversight panel to examine the management of bison in Yellowstone National Park.
The main concern is the brucellosis, a disease that can cause cattle to abort their calves. Rehberg testified if Montana loses its brucellosis-free status, the ranching industry could suffer. The republican says he is concerned with the priorities of the National Park Service.
"What was really shocking was the National Park Service actually admitting the free roaming bison outside the park was a bigger issue than a brucellosis free heard. It would seem to me that they have their priorities completely opposite from what they should be."
Congressman Rehberg, and Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer, both testified at Tuesday's hearing.
