Travis Henry Sentenced

BILLINGS - Former Denver Bronco Travis Henry is sentenced in a federal courtroom in Billings on Wednesday, but his time in federal prison could be reduced after he's already inside.

Henry will spend the next three years behind bars at a federal prison and then have three of supervised release. Henry had already pled guilty to possessing and distributing cocaine in Montana through a plea deal.

In return, prosecutors agreed to drop all other cocaine charges against him. The court also recommended that Henry serve his time at a federal prison in Florida so he can be close to his family and that he complete a 500-hour drug treatment program that, once done, could reduce his sentence.

Before the judge announced the sentence, Henry told the court that he would like to talk to kids all around the world about the dangers of using and being around drugs. He also said he realized how bad he had messed up when he started signing autographs at the Yellowstone County Detention Facility.

During the sentencing the judge told Henry he is an example of what a marijuana addiction can do. He said if he hadn't become addicted to marijuana, he would never be charged in a federal court and would probably still be playing in the NFL.

ya, marijuana had nothing relevent to do with cocaine trafficking. another bull crap cop out. If people would read the facts, found under popular culture, and medicinal marijuana articles, based on conclusive facts, they would understand that cannabis as a gateway drug is a myth. there is not 1 fatility each year due to marijuana. check the satistics, not 1. how many other drug related deaths are there? hundered of thousands.. Need any more proof

Here we go again with somebody "assuming" that grass is that dreaded "gateway drug". The only reason somebody moves to using a different drug IS BECAUSE THEY WANT!!! In this jerks case he saw it as an easy way to make a lot of money of others and he probably was trying to make a bunch quickly because he wasn't that great of a ball player and he wanted to continue to live in the expensive lifestyle that he wanted to. He should have gotten a lot more time than he did!!!
