Billings Fireworks Show

BILLINGS - While the Fourth of July celebration in Laurel attracts thousands from the region, a local church strives to bring the Billings Community closer together this holiday.

Harvest Church in Billings Heights holds their 9th Annual Fireworks show and holiday celebration Saturday at Castle Park. The event features the only fireworks display in Billings this year, which will run for about 30 minutes. Organizers say they hold the event to bring families and the community closer together.

"We're very excited about it. Especially because it's in the Heights, so we get the Heights community and the Billings community together, says George Burgin, Pastor at Harvest Church.

Organizers say they'll have extra police in the area following the show, to assist with traffic. The event started at 4:00 p.m., with activities, food and music leading up to the fireworks around 10:15 p.m.

In spite of the tragedy of the lightning strike, Harvest Church stepped up to the plate, once again. It's a shame that local business and professional organizations are not willing to give back to the people that support them! As a child, I watched the fireworks on the rims, then the fairground (preceded by a concert from the city band), from Stuart Park ... until they finally dwindled due to lack of sponsorship. .. Kudos to Harvest Church.

Thank you very much for having it. Harvest Church should get a big way to go for that one.

Thank you Harvest for saving the City once more. I guess it is a blessing that the Bar Association is doing so bad that they can not fund a fireworks show. Either that or they are cheap. Anyway thanks for stepping up for another year.
