CODY, WYOMING - It's cowboy Christmas once again in Cody as the 90th annual Cody Stampede Rodeo is underway.

The Stampede plays host to top cowboys and cowgirls from across the country competing for some of the biggest purses in the sport. While it's not the only rodeo going on this weekend, organizers boast there's really little competition for the rodeo capital of the world.

Stampede Rodeo Committee Chairman Paul Fees says, "The difference is like between going to a regular professional baseball game and going to the World Series. This is the World Series of Rodeo. The atmosphere is so charged, the cowboys are so pumped up."

The Stampede kicked off Wednesday night and runs through Sunday.
