BILLINGS - The Billings Police Department and the City of Billings have ironed out details on a new contract as the local police officers contract expired June 30th, meaning as of July 1st, the union was working without a contract.

The city and the police union began negotiating a new contract at the end of April. They are still in the midst of working out a few small details of the new agreement.

Nineteen points ranging from language changes to financial details are under review. City officials say they hope to sign the new contact by the end of next week.
