Medical Marijuana Store Coming to the Heights

BILLINGS - Some neighboring stores don't seem too concerned over a medical marijuana shop opening up in the Billings Heights.

Billings resident Mark Higgins uses pot legally under state law for his chronic back pain. He's also a provider for other patients and is growing his clientele daily.

Now he wants to open a shop at 649 Main Street by July 1st. KULR-8 spoke with neighboring stores to see how they feel about the new business.

"Don't bother me any. Heck, I really don't have no problem at all with it," said Leonard Kroll who works in a neighboring store. The strip also houses a tobacco shop, a pet store and a barber-shop.

As patients we have a right to our dignity, obviously your not a patient with a dire need for this medication, otherwise you would feel differently. This isnt about criminals hanging out but real patients in need of medicine, do you ban the drugstores who hand out toxic drugs. There's no stopping this so we must organize it in the best way possible. It is time to quit living in the 1930's it has been used as medicine for thousands of years. Do not submit to propaganda.

Arsenic is natural, and it does have a lot of beneficial uses, including the treatment of some cancers. Just like Marijuania. Maybe you need to take some of your own advice, and take the time to understand the issue more.

Saying marijuana is a natural plant and thus good is about as intelligent as saying arsenic is a natural mineral and this good. I support the use of medical marijuana. I don't back those who don't take the time to understand the issue.

To Daniel, What about the image of alcohol abuse? It's all politics as usual. When It does not make sense it's politics. I'm so tired of "do gooders" like Daniel.

Daniel, I'd really like to know if you drink alcohol? Smoke cigerettes? If you do, do not say another word about marijuana. IT IS A NATURAL PLANT! with AMAZING natural properties! It is immensely more natural than beer, liquor, and most of the potato chips you eat. When will people let go of their generations-old grudge against Marijuana? Or do people still see it as the drug portrayed in "Reefer Madness," leading good women and men to go sin? Gateway drug? Look at the legal drugs people.

I am not for the this store as a Heights Property owner or better yet as Billings Resident. I am not wanting to get into the middle of medical use or not but I think it creates a wrong image in a community. I am also concerned that this owner is also running for city council man just to get his medical marijuana agenda into the council. Maybe we should have had the lady who opened up the strip joint downtown run on the city council so she could have pushed her agenda.
