BILLINGS - Community action leaders are concerned over what they say is a growing threat from white supremacy groups in Billings.

Eran Thompson, Not In Our Town Billings organizer, said he has received numerous reports of flyers appearing on the doorsteps of people of different nationalities and churches across town. The flyers bear the name of the white power group called The Creativity Movement.

Thompson said he fears members are getting bolder. "We're starting to hear rumors of that kind of escalation of violent occurrences where an African American gentleman has been beat up by white supremacists," said Thompson. "Again, this is information that's coming in to us too late to get it out to the public. What we're really pushing for is people in their neighborhoods to be alert, to be watchful and if you hear of someone getting one of these flyers, if you see a swastika painted somewhere we need to know about it immediately."

The number for Not In Our Town is (406) 225-5719, you are also encouraged to call the police on the non-emergency line if you receive a flyer.

Not In Our Town will come pick up the flyers and recycle them too if you would like, and you can donate a dollar to go towards helping victims of hate crimes.

I will stand up for my rightsit sounds like this just in our town wants to fill up the jail and prisons,y 2 get more money to build more,be proud to be white ,stand up for yourself,It's not a crime to be "WHITE" YET...so be proud and keep our race white

White supremacy DOES NOT belong in Montana! Although Montana's population is densely white this should not give way to hate crimes. You're proud of your race!!!! Good for you! But keep the "hate" part out of it! Voicing opinions is one thing. But to judge cultures, foreigners, and the color of someones skin because you are afraid of what you do not understand or because you are a primarily dominant individual gives way to violent tendencies, unjustified hateful tactics, and group destruction.

You can't protect freedom of speech for one group and deny it to another. Though I certainly don't agree with what their message is, they still have a perfectly valid right to say it.

All I can say is, don't visit Billings when you make your trip to Montana. Scary place, much like northern Idaho's reputation. Too bad too, because the human ugliness is spoiling the region's natural beauty for tourists.

are we communist call the police line??? for speaking your beliefs?mb we need to stop this not in my town people they sound more dangerous than white supremacists. at least they(white supremacists) are not trying to stop the beliefs of other just voice theirs. But i will bet the "not in my town" people would have them silenced rather worry about important things like oh i dont know, free speech, in our free country.
