BILLINGS - The staff at Parents Let's Unite for Kids, or PLUK, mourn the loss of the organization's former leader.

Dennis Moore served as executive director of PLUK for six years. Nearly three years ago, he fell off the roof of his home while trimming a tree and became a quadriplegic.

Roger Holt, current director, said Moore passed away Tuesday in Billings at the age of 57 from complications from his spinal cord injury. His colleagues said he helped PLUK flourish into a state wide organization and his talents and spirit will be missed.

"He was such a visionary in the field that PLUK is in, serving children with special needs and disabilities, he had such a vision for the future of what parent training information centers could be and what we could do for children," said Sheryl Shockley, Director of Operations for PLUK.

Shockley said a private memorial service will be held.
