RED LODGE - A Carbon County chimpanzee owner will go in front of the county's health board later on this week after they say she violated an order allowing access to the animals.

Carbon County officials say Jeanne Rizzotto violated a quarantine order when she spoke with the Today Show last week. Health board officials say Rizotto and her son were the only two people allowed to have access to the chimps. Rizzotto claims she was never notified of the ruling.

"There's absolutely no order in place. There's no such thing. There's no order. I've never been served an order. My chimps are not quarantined by anything in writing," said Rizzotto.

"The stipulation was the public was not supposed to have access to either of those chimpanzees. The chimpanzees were to remain in their sanctuary," said Carbon County Commissioner John Prinkki.

The board also wants to see medical records, blood tests and proof of vaccinations, something that Rizzotto claims to have already given them. A hearing on the matter is set for this Thursday.

Besides Rizzoto's stupidity for harboring chimps, I have to wonder where all the money she has, is coming from. I believe that she is also very crooked,besides being a whack job.

This lady went on national TV and made a complete jerk of herself by proving that these animals are capable of harming innocent bystanders, even if just "playing". I think people who obsess over animals need serious therapy because they are not capable of forming emotional attachments to HUMANS... and therefore they make stupid choices and justify bad behavior that endangers themselves, family, friends and community members because of their rediculous need to be "loved". What a weirdo.

Hopefully being a little more informed will help you understand the constant wreckage J.R. leaves in her path wherever she goes. They get her attention, and that is ALL she is keeping them for.

This is great news. Thank you Jeanne for just being yourself and thinking that rules and laws don't apply to you. Perhaps now, Connor and Kramer will be safe in a "real" sanctuary. This is great news for not only the chimps but for the county and the residents. For all of those that wrote to the authorities, thank you.
