Meth March

BILLINGS - Thousands of Montana teens are getting ready to storm the capitol Monday in a march against meth.

The group is asking the state legislature for $2 million to continue funding the Montana Meth Project. Two Billings teens said the March is important to them for different reasons.

"It's important to me because meth has changed my life and my family's life very dramatically," said 12-year-old Kael Gievink, "My (birth) mother used meth when she had me and she still isn't clean. If she wouldn't have done that, it wouldn't have put me where I am Sunday, but it just shows people care more about drugs than they do their family."

"I've seen what a big problem this is and I think we need to do something about it now before it gets any bigger," said 13-year-old Gerald Gievink. Billings has the largest group of students attending the march. The students will board buses Monday morning at 6:45 a.m. in the parking lot at West Park Plaza.

Good job boys, we are very proud of you. Just a note, Kael was adopted at birth, his Birthmother used Meth. His Mom is a former correctional officer and an advocate of the Montana Meth Project.
