By Stephanie Domurat & Sarah Gravlee

BILLINGS - A Billings Heights home is a complete loss Sunday after an accidental fire.

Officials responded to 721 Garnett Avenue around 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning after the smoke detector went off. Reports say the five residents and their pets were home at the time of the fire, and escaped unharmed. Officials say the fire was caused by a wood burning stove. The damages are estimated at about $300,000. The home was insured.

About eight hours later, a garage caught fire on Parkhill Drive. Billings fire officials said the fire caused about $20,000 dollars worth of damage to a vehicle and detached garage.

They said an item on the vehicle malfunctioned, stating the blaze. No one was injured, and the garage was insured.
