Yellowstone Snowcoaches

BILLINGS - As environmental groups continue to try to ban snowmobiles from Yellowstone National Park, a snowcoach owner remains optimistic.

Yellowstonevacations.com's Randy Roberson says he's taking reservations for his snowcoach tours through the park for the winter season. Roberson says while snowmobiles and snowcoaches have been grouped together he's confident if snowmobiles are banned snowcoaches would still be allowed to tour the park.

"I'm not privy to all the ins and outs but all the grief has been with the snowmobiles so we would hope and assume the snow coaches would be fine," said Roberson.

Yellowstone snowcoach tours run from the middle of December until the middle of March.

Let the snow coaches stay - the snow mobiles can GO! There are other places for them to go - so let the snowmobiles go elsewhere. There should also be limits as to how many motorcycles should be allowed in Yellowstone. We visited last summer and saw FAR TOO MANY speeders and saw several wrecks. If motorcycles are to be allowed in Yellowstone, then they should be required to have mufflers. We come to Yellowstone to enjoy the wildlife and scenes, not noises from the city!

The plans put out and have been balanced to allow snowmobiles and snowcoaches. Even the last study shows that a mix of the two would be more environmentally friendly for the park and that was the environmentally preferred alternative. People want to use snowmobiles as transportation to see the beauty of the park from a different perspective than snowcoaches.

I lived in West Yellowstone for almost five years and witnessed personally the wildlife concerns and the economic repercusions of the elimination of snowmobiles in the park. It is my belief there are people that want to see Yellowstone in the winter. And there are people that just want to explore with a snowmobile. Let the snow coaches run and I hope Randy has enough. Let the people that just want to play; play outside of the park. Many miles of trails! See Yellowstone by coach. A must see!
