BILLINGS - A Billings man accused of causing a crash that killed a newborn is arraigned in district court Tuesday.

Matthew Kewitt entered not guilty pleas to felony vehicular homicide while under the influence, negligent homicide, and negligent vehicular assault.

Court documents say on March 7th, Kewitt collided with another vehicle driven Alyssa Kline on Central Avenue and Florine Lane. Kline was 28 weeks pregnant at the time and had to have emergency surgery to save her child.

The child died nine days later and Kline suffered severe brain injuries from the crash.
