STATE - Two of the three initiatives on the Montana ballot this year passed.

First we look at Constitutional Amendment 44, which would allow up to 25% of all state trust fund assets to be invested into the stock market. With 98% of the precincts reporting a strong majority of Montanans have voted no. 25% of people voted for Amendment 44, that's compared to the 74% who voted against the amendment.

Voters passed Legislative Referendum 118, known as the 6-Mill Levy. With 98% of precincts reporting 56% said yes, 43% said no. LR-118 is a renewal of the ten year property tax for all Montana homeowners that would fund nearly nine percent of the Montana university system.

And finally, Initiative 155, the healthy kids plan - a program to expand health coverage for Montana children. That initiative also passes with 69% voting for and 30% voting against. The program is estimated to cost $22 million in state funds every year and would also be met by federal funds.
