Bullock on AG Job

By Katie Ussin

BILLINGS - The race for Montana Attorney General involves two longtime Helena lawyers. Monday, we heard from republican candidate Tim Fox.

Democrat Steve Bullock has 14 years of law experience, including four years in the Montana Attorney General's Office, with cases tried in the Supreme Court.

Bullock said his priorities include: defending second amendment rights, making sure law enforcement agencies have the tools and resources they need, and cracking down on online child predators.

"When we talk about sexual and violent offenders it's more than just a website, it's making sure your prosecutors have the tools they need, things like ready access to a crime lab, and a satellite division here in Billings, things like changing our rules of evidence so that you can get into the propensity or other crimes when it comes to sexual cases," said Bullock. "So that's one thing we'll continue to crack down on. Meth we've been making great progress on. Right now 10% of our kids are illicitly using prescription drugs so we need to start making the war on meth also a war on prescription drugs."

Attorney General Mike McGrath leaves office due to term limits.
