Is Ron Paul Influencing Voters?

By Nick Lough

BILLINGS - Could third-party candidates play a major role in Montana's Electoral College this election year?

Political experts say Ron Paul could. They say Paul continues to have a lot of support in the treasure state even though he's not actively campaigning.

Political expert Craig Wilson says nobody knows how many voters Paul will steal from either party on election night. but both parties need to prepare for it.

"He's certainly going to draw more republicans than democrats. How much is he going to be able to? That may have been blunted by some extent by putting a Sarah Palin on the ticket who is known as quite conservative," said Wilson.

In February, Ron Paul came in second to Mitt Romney in the Montana Republican Caucuses. McCain came in third at that time.

You have it backwards. We don't know how many votes Obama or McCain will steal from Ron Paul because they believe they are supporting the lesser of two evils. Whoever wins, will likely only have the genuine support of about 16% of the voting population. What a sad Democracy we live in.

Ron Paul would not be "stealing" votes from anyone. No one "owns" my vote! And no one should presume the Rs and Ds must win. THAT presumption IS the problem? By the way, how many votes do you think McCain will "steal" from the write-in vote for Paul?

If Obama was born in Kenya Africa and Mccain was born in Panama, and constitutional requirement says to be president, Natural born in these United States is a requirement, and that has never been amended with a Ratified Amendment Why are we wasting our time on these two actors trying to steal the election? Maybe Ron Paul and Sarah against Hillary makes sense afterall.

The Ron Paul phenomenon exists because people are seeing past the lies the two major parties feed us. We realize that the two party system doesn’t seek to unite us, but rather to divide us so we will fear wasting our vote on a third party, but we are not divided any more! We the people, conservative or liberal want the same thing. We want our liberty back! God bless the r3volution, and God bless America.

18,000 at the rally more than the DNC. The Neo-con DNC/RNC is corporate fascism. The abuse of the first amendment and the failure of the 4th estate is tragic. These guys are trying usury gang trying to fight a religious war by imperialism driven by oil greed. Bill Krisol and the CFR should be imprisoned instead of the chemical dependents. ANY CHURCH OR RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATION SUPPORTING POLITICS SHOULD LOSE THERE TAX EXEMPT STATUS.

Your so-called "political expert" Craig Wilson doesn't understand the Ron Paul phenomenon. I'm one of his millions of supporters who is more from the left than the right. Unlike today's right wingers, we want a small government mainly for the purpose of protecting our personal liberties; economic reasons are secondary to this. When writing about Paul, please consult an expert who understands libertarianism.

Right on J707, the arrogance of Democans and Republicrats not dimes worth of difference. Notice how the MSM just ignores what I thought was the main thrust of the agreement between the third party candidates, That they agree on four major issues and these are not being covered or debated, just which pig has lipstick, jeez.

"just how many votes Paul could steal from either party" "Steal?" Because we all OWE either McCain or Obama our vote, right? Any deviation from that and its apparently some conspiracy towards chaos...not people voting for a 3rd-party candidate because they felt THAT one truly earned their vote whereas the two major party candidates did not. I wish more people found this kind of talk as insulting as I do. I am not either party's gamepiece; a public servant has to EARN my vote and my trust.

Rock On Ron Paul !!! This Man Understands Our Situation. Yes, He Is A Greater Influence Than Many Give Him Credit For. Anyone Advocating Returning Toward The Constitution Is An Ally. The Money Party Rules America Today; Both Dems And Repubs. We Need Another Option.

I am a Democrat. Or was. Until I found Ron Paul. Now I am a non-statist. That means I can't be a Democrat or a Republican because both parties are statists (They want the State to run your life in some mode or another). Therefore, I will be not voting for Obama, but I will write in Ron Paul (because I don't like the other third party candidates). Hope that helps your statistics.

The Dailysource.org has a cool Palin profile. She proposed a $30 billion pipeline that was the “will of God.” A month ago she doesn’t know what the vice-president does, and she praissd the biggest pork barrel spender in Congress Ted Stevens! Amazing!
