No Child Left Behind

BILLINGS - Preliminary results show nearly 30% of Montana schools failed the latest round of the No Child Left Behind tests.

State Superintendent of Public Instruction Linda McCulloch said these numbers are misleading because federal officials raised the bar for the test this year.

"When you do a one size fits all, it really can't fit all," she said. "We always believed in Montana that we get every child to top their potential as students so they can be successful for the rest of our lives."

She added that while the state did not do as well with the No Child Left Behind standards, students performed better this year on SAT and ACT scores.

No Child Left Behind is the biggest thing I hold against Bush- schools should not be punished because some kids are dumb. A lot of teenagers are just plain lazy and do not see the benefits of the quality education that Public schools offer. They pay for it later in life, as the serve you fries or deliver your pizza while the kids who strove for excellence and applied themselves in school succeed.
