Lockwood Sewer System

By Nick Lough

LOCKWOOD - Lockwood voters approved a bond Thursday night paving the way to a new sewer system in the Lockwood area.

Lockwood water officials are excited at the possibility of the system up and running in the next few years. They say that means they'll have a lot of construction to do during that time as well. One thing Lockwood water officials want to make sure of is strategically closed roads during construction to avoid heavy traffic.

"During construction, one of the things we really have to address traffic control especially on the business side. We need to make sure people can get into the community because we're going to be in the arterial streets," said Lockwood Water and Sewer's Woody Woods.

Construction of the new sewer system could start as early as this spring.
