Residents on Stand By

By Sarah Gravlee

BILLINGS - Montana's largest wildland fire of the season continues to grow and residents are on stand by as the fire could force them to evacuate. Officials with the BLM said Saturday the Dunn Mountain Fire burning north of Shepherd was more than 85,000 acres and about 53 percent contained.
Sources at the Musselshell County Sheriff's Department said they put dozens of residents in the Fattig Creek Road area on evacuation stand by. The fire is still east of Fattig Creek, but is spreading to the north and northeast. Fattig Creek Road and Chandler Road were closed Saturday morning. Now only residents and fire officials are allowed to travel those roads. Stay tuned to KULR-8 for all the latest.
