BILLINGS - As the first week of school ends, students aren't the only ones trying to adjust to new experiences in the classroom, so are first time teachers.

New Billings Senior High School English teacher Kate Waage says the first week of school has been a whirlwind with things she never expected. She says first time teachers not only have to learn students names, they also have to learn all the school policies, meet all the other teachers, and make new lesson plans. She says she's learning something new everyday.

"To be in there and to do it you just have to be confident and go with your instincts and do whatever feed back the kids are giving you to learn from them and yourself and you can do it," said Waage.

School District Two students began classes earlier this week but teachers actually went back a couple weeks ago.
