Congressman says Palin Good for Montana

By Katie Ussin

BILLINGS - It is the Republican Party's turn to take center stage, and Friday they did so with a major announcement.

After Barack Obama accepted the Democratic bid for President of the United States Thursday night in Denver, Presumptive GOP Presidential Nominee John McCain announced his choice for running mate, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.

U.S. Congressman Denny Rehberg said it is a choice that rejuvenates the party. He said she is a testament to the impact and difference women are making in politics, and believes that she is perfect for Montana.

"The biggest problem I have in Washington is convincing my colleagues from urban areas about rural health and rural education and Native American issues, and the fact that we have more miles of highway, they need a rural perspective," said Rehberg. "So she brings a breath of fresh air to this presidential race because she clearly understands Montana's issues. I'm really excited."

Governor Palin is the first female vice presidential candidate since Geraldine Ferraro in 1984. Congressman Rehberg said he is leaving for the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota Sunday.

I am open to all parties, but the McCain Camp seems to be playing the political game. Where is the authenticity of what we are all looking for, where is the real change.. Who will deliver and look into our future..
