Detention Facility Pushing On

By Katie Ussin

BILLINGS - Officials with the Hardin jail continue to pursue contracts for their 400 bed facility which sits empty.

Two Rivers Detention Facility Executive Director, Greg Smith, said in the past month they have sent out information to the California Department of Corrections and rehibilitation upon request. They have also put in for a program to take inmates from the state who are currently being housed in Warm Springs.

And, Smith said they are working to get a contract with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He said they are waiting for a letter of support from the governor's office to help them nail down these contracts. Congressman Denny Rehberg's office has sent such a letter.
