Crow Fair

By Stephanie Domurat

CROW AGENCY - Crow Tribal members are setting up for a celebration this weekend.

The 90th annual Crow Fair starts Friday and runs through Tuesday. The official start is Friday morning at sunrise with a group blessing by a tribal member. The fair will display the art and culture of the Crow people, and features a variety of performances. Officials say they like to think of the fair as a giant family reunion.

"Whether they are in Washington, D.C. or Colorado or wherever, it's a time for people to come home and see their families. Make new friends, see old friends and be with people that they don't get to see throughout the year," says Albert Gros-Ventre, Pow-Wow director.

Events at this year's fair include horse races, a rodeo, a pow-wow, and a parade that will start at 10 a.m. Friday morning. Admission is $10 at the gate.
