BILLINGS - After buying admission to MontanaFair, people can enjoy all types of free entertainment. Shows include everything from clowns to, performing dogs, and even a comedian hypnotist.
Alan Sands has been in show business most of his life. He started as a magician, but soon moved into comedy hypnosis. "I bring out the child in people," he said. "I'm releasing their inhibitions and making them bark like a chicken."
He's at MontanaFair all week putting people under his spell. Sands said your subconscious mind will prevent you from doing anything you are morally opposed to, but it won't keep you from looking silly. He regularly makes grown men dance around like ballerinas, and "moo" like cows.
I decided to see what Alan could make me do, but luckily my task was easy. He simply wanted to make me smile more. After about three minutes of coaching, sands took me to my "happy place" and brought out my pearly whites.
Since he says the power of the mind is endless, Sands wanted to prove that I could do more than just smile. He recruited a young fair-goer and had her stand on me while I was suspended between two chairs.
You can catch Alan's performance for yourself at the Coors Stage at 3:30, 6:30, and 9 all week, but be prepared to be pulled on stage.
