Cheney in Montana

By KULR & The Associated Press

BOZEMAN - Vice President Dick Cheney is scheduled to attend a fundraiser for the Montana GOP later this month in Bozeman.

Cheney's office says details of the Aug. 27 event are still being worked out. Press secretary Megan Mitchell says the event may be open only to donors, or could possibly be open to the press and others.

Cheney last held such a speaking event in Montana in 2006 during the U.S. Senate race between Conrad Burns and eventual winner Jon Tester.

In recent days, there has been speculation on whether Cheney will attend the Republican National Convention during the first week of September. His office says his schedule for that month has not been set.

While in Montana Vice President Dick Cheney is taking advantage of its beauty and is said to be fishing the Big Horn River.
