Due Process

BILLINGS - School District II Superintendent Jack Copps is not satisfied with the timeframe the State Board of Public Education has set to discuss the case involving a Billings teacher who allegedly had sex with a student.

Senior High teacher Stacey Rambold is accused of having sex with a female freshman student and is now on paid administrative leave. School District II Trustees sent the matter directly to the state board in hopes they would revoke Rambold's license. State board officials say they'll wait until September to discuss the case because they don't want to violate due process.

Copps says, “This individual is not carrying a license to teach anywhere else in the state. So we'll continue to apply some pressure." Copps also says he'll attend the state conference call meeting in Helena to plead the urgency of the issue. He says he then plans to ask the local school board to begin termination hearings for Rambold in August.

If this tacher is found guilty. I hope they take his license away. And he can't teach anywhere else.
