Houston Changes Plea

By Nick Lough

BILLINGS - A Billing teenager changes his plea, admitting he's responsible for the traffic accident that killed a Billings Clinic nurse.

Brian James Houston, 17 years old of Billings plead guilty to charges of negligent homicide, fleeing or eluding officers, and burglary. Houston will spend 20 years in the Montana State Prison with no chance for parole. In return for the guilty plea, prosecutors dropped several charges including criminal endangerment.

In April, Houston led officers on a high-speed pursuit through Billings before he slammed into another vehicle driven by Billings Clinic nurse Lillian Stahl. Stahl died at the scene. Sentencing is set for October 2, 2008.

What is being overlooked here is that this kid will be out when he's 36 years old & his victom will never see 36... We have to continue to support the police & have 0 tolerence for anyone breaking the law.

Why are police having high speed chases where someone else can be injured. If they had slowed down or not chased this person is it possible the accident might not have even happened. This is a rather harsh sentence.

For the first time in a long time I can say someone of the younger generation has done something not many can say they do. He steped up and admitted to his own actions and is going to take the punishment. Its too bad that it took someone losing a life for him to learn.
