Memorial Day Travel

By Stephanie Domurat

BILLINGS - Memorial Day weekend is just one week away. A study conducted by AAA says travelers can expect to pay more for their holiday travels, yet travelers aren't letting the high gas prices stop their travels.

AAA officials say nearly 38 million Americans will be traveling to celebrate the upcoming holiday. And 83% of those are expected to travel by car.

Despite the high prices at the pump, the agency says there will only be about a 1% fewer people on the roads this upcoming holiday weekend. While Montana state gas averages are 49 cents higher than this time last year, the national average is up 67 cents.
