Campground Openings

By Katie Ussin

BILLINGS - Heavy snowfall has delayed the opening of a popular campground in Yellowstone National Park.

Norris campground was set to open Friday, but 18-to-24 inches of snow covers the ground where tents and sleeping bags should be. Park officials say it is the heaviest snowfall there in decades, and that individual sites at Norris will open as the snow melts.

All 100 sites are expected to open in about two weeks.
