Accident Closes Main Street

By Nick Lough

BILLINGS - A multiple car accident shut down Main Street in the heights for more than an hour Monday afternoon.

Police say the driver of a pick-up truck traveling south bound on Main Street lost control and rear-ended a suburban. The truck then crashed into a guardrail and crossed the intersection at Airport Road and Main Street before finally crashing into a small passenger car. Two people were taken to the hospital.

A witness says he couldn't believe his eyes. "I thought I was in the movies, it was wild. I've never seen nothing like it before you know it was wild. He had no control over the truck at all, none," witness Dennis Maloney.

Police say they are investigating the possibility that the driver had a medical emergency at the time of the crash. They say drugs or alcohol did not appear to play a factor in the crash.
