Clinton Reactions

By Nick Lough

BILLINGS - Former president Clinton visited the Magic City Saturday night speaking at the 22nd annual Truman Dinner.

In front of more than 1,000 people inside MSU-Billing's Alterowitz Gymnasium former president Clinton took the stage to garner more support for his wife's run to the White House. Clinton focused much of his 45 minutes on stage talking about the economy, energy, and healthcare.

"The number one problem in America Sunday with the economy is that there's not enough of it for folks," said the former President. "Hillary favors helping Detroit convert to higher mileage vehicle in hurry and not just small cars but higher mileage SUV's and others," said Clinton. "The United States spends 700 billion dollars more a year on healthcare then we would spend if we borrowed any other wedding countries systems and dropped it in America," said President Clinton.

Hillary Clinton now trails Barack Obama in all three major categories: Overall votes, pledged delegates, and pledged super delegates. Former president Clinton told the crowd his wife is in the race until the end, "I think it’s really important that every state be given the chance to vote and every states vote counts in this election."

But also said come November the party needs unification. "How ever there last states come out, my candidate, our family, and our supporters will be here to get a victory in November for the democrats, it's to important we've go to turn this country around."

Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal represented the Obama campaign at the event telling the crowd to vote for Obama because he understands how the Rocky Mountain region works. And Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer addressed the crowd on the importance of the upcoming state elections and future ramifications they hold.

Clinton campaign officials say Hillary Clinton is expected to visit Montana before the June primary, but no dates or times are scheduled yet.
