Dehler Park Trees

By Nick Lough

BILLINGS - Construction at Dehler Park is nearing an end. Friday, Billings officials started replacing trees that were removed when work began. Crews replanted one tree at the ballpark, which was temporarily relocated to North Park.

They also broke ground for three new trees along the side of the road. Officials say they're planning on planting more than thirty trees around the ballpark. One worker says bringing the trees back is important to the city. "The three new trees are important, but a big thing is the preservation. Bringing existing trees that were on site and preservation of the trees, that's probably one of the biggest hooks here, getting the trees back in," said City Forester Eric Gilsrud.

City crews hope to have all of the trees planted around the field within a month.
