BILLINGS - Millions of Americans are living with a chronic illness. Lori Hartwell, of California, is one of those people, and she has dedicated her life to helping others suffering live fulfilling and happy lives.

Hartwell has chronic kidney disease and has undergone three transplants. Thursday in Billings, she held a book singing and spoke to area healthcare providers about the disease. She encourages survivors of any adversity to reach out to those still suffering.

"It's the most rewarding feeling when you can help other people go through something tragic, you feel like this is why I've been through all this because I can help somebody," said Hartwell.
