MT Auditor Heads to China

By Madelyn Jarrett

BILLINGS - State Auditor John Morrison heads to China next week to represent U.S. Insurance Regulators in trade negotiations.

Morrison will speak on behalf of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. He'll address issues such as expansion of health and catastrophe insurance, and rules regarding management of insurance.

"It's important for Americans and Montanans to pay close attention to what's happening in china and not allow development to happen without us having our say in it , without directing it in a way that's compatible to both nations." Says Morrison.

Morrison helped open the relationship with the China Insurance Regulatory Commission in 2003.
