Late Voter Registration Opens for Primary

By Alden Downing

HELENA - If you haven't registered to vote in the state's June 3rd primary, it's not too late. Voters can still register at county elections offices through Election Day. Even though late registration is available, elections officials urge potential voters to sign up before June 3rd.

"With late registration period in force we would encourage people to register as soon as possible and not wait until Election Day," explained Secretary of State Brad Johnson. "It becomes a very potentially hectic process for them and for the election administrators around the state."

If you don't register to vote in the state primary late registration will also be available before November's election. But late registration will be closed from noon until 5 p.m. the day before each election.
