BILLINGS - A Billings high school teacher is placed on paid administrative leave after a student accuses him of an improper relationship.

The teacher, Stacy Rambold, is a business and technology teacher at Billings Senior High School. Superintendent Jack Copps says a 15-year-old freshman student told school officials that she and Rambold were having an inappropriate relationship.

The superintendent says he is now in the process of hiring an independent investigator and also allowing law enforcement to review the allegations.

"I want to put all the pieces in place as quickly as I can. I want to make absolutely certain that we conduct a thorough investigation both internally and externally," said Copps.

The superintendent says Rambold has taught at Billings Senior High School for four years. He also says Rambold has one minor offense with students since he started teaching at the high school.

Why wasn't anything made public aboutthe 2 male teachers in Joliet who were dismissed for the same reason? Is it only news if it happens in Billings?

I have mr.rambold as a teacher and he just doesn't seem like a type of guy that would actually harm anyone. Since it has yet to be proven let the rumors rest. He's innocent until proven guilty.

It has yet to be determined what actually happened, if anything at all. Hasn't anyone ever heard the phrase innocent until proven guilty?

This is happening all over the country. Go to www.schoolteachernews.com and click on the Scandal page. They have documented over 170 of these types of incidents since just the beginning of 2008.
