White Supremacy in Billings?

BILLINGS - White supremacist activity in Billings was a topic at the Not In Our Town meeting Thursday evening. Travis McAdam with the Montana Human Rights Network spoke at the gathering. McAdam says he began looking into it when he read about vandalism at an area synagogue.

He discovered a small group of teenagers were suspected. Through contact with schools he found out the kids were interested in white supremacy literature and had committed other vandalisms.

McAdam says he's speaking to Not In Our Town so they can educate against that activity. "States like Montana and Idaho have in the past sort of attracted these types of people because of the demographics." He says this time he thinks the problem was caught before it became a much larger issue.

The Montana Human Rights Network discovered the group had already dispersed and some had moved out of state.
