Jim Hunt on Campaign Tour

BILLINGS - Montana Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress Jim Hunt was in Billings Thursday as part of a week long tour. He held a press conference and rally to meet and greet and get out his campaign message.

His slogan of the tour is "Hunt for Change." When asked why he thinks he should replace Congressman Denny Rehberg, he claimed his opponent is out of touch with what Montanans want. "We're spending $5,000 dollars a second in Iraq, $12 billion a month and he says it's not his job to second guess the President. And he's wrong about that. If Congress doesn't second guess the President no one will. I will second guess the President."

Officials at Rehberg's Campaign office say the Congressman has done plenty within individual communities that show he's in touch and doing things important for Montanans. They listed projects such as getting digital video cameras for Billings Police Department and funds for a new Billings Food Bank facility, as a few examples. Hunt lives in Helena, and is a consumer lawyer who has never before run for public office.
