BILLINGS - Billings City Council heard a presentation for a possible Museum of the Yellowstone in a meeting Thursday.

The Yellowstone County Museum Foundation presented sketches of what the museum would feature and where it would sit. The site could be around 65 acres, including the 10 acres of Swords Park. The actual facility would be around 200,000 square feet and the possibility of integrating the Yellowstone County Museum was discussed.

Supporters say the site could also feature a hotel and retail stores, and serve as a draw for tourists and tax dollars. The Yellowstone County Museum Foundation will raise the money for the museum if the idea moves forward.
