Renters Insurance

BILLINGS - The recent apartment fire has some insurance agents reminding people to cover their bases. Even though renters do not own the property, they still have a lot to lose. Insurance experts say renters insurance can be relatively inexpensive, as low as $10 per month and can help a person rebuild in the face of disaster.

"It helps you sleep at night knowing full well that there's a possibility some things can go wrong and we don't know what they are or what they will be but at least you have something that can give you a start," Insurance Agency of Montana's Glen Donohoe.

Donohoe also recommends planning ahead and keeping all important documents such as birth certificates, marriage certificate and all insurance policies in a fire-safe deposit box.
