Mini March of Dimes

BILLINGS - Billings Senior High School walked for a good cause Friday. For the second year in a row, the school has organized a mini-version of the March of Dimes.

After hearing a presentation about the effects of premature births, Billings Senior High organized a school-wide fundraiser for the March of Dimes organization. "We had an assembly awhile back and a lady from the March of Dimes came and shared some of the stories with us," said 9th grader Alix Collier.

"I basically went door to door trying to get people to make donations." Students at Billings Senior High were out on the track all day Friday during their gym classes. For every lap they complete, students will collect pledged donations from sponsors.

Last year, one class raised about $80 dollars for the cause, but with the entire school involved, they said they expect to bring in about $2,000 dollars. The March of Dimes is a national charity dedicated to preventing infant mortality and birth defects.
